Marco Steenbergen did his undergraduate studies at the University of Amsterdam, specializing in political methodology. He received his PhD from Stony Brook University, with political psychology as specialization. He has held appointments at Carnegie Mellon University, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and the University of Bern. He currently holds the Chair for Political Methodology at the University of Zurich. An award-winning teacher, he is committed to training the next generation of social scientists in open, reproducible, and ethical research. In his own research, Steenbergen focuses on deliberation, methodology, political parties, public opinion, and voting behavior. Much of his substantive research is engaged with the intersection between human decision-making and political institutions.
